Mace Construct will adopt the name Forco after the New Year, the UK contractor has said. The business will continue to trade under its current name until then, when it plans to introduce the new identity alongside a corporate strategy and productivity targets running to 2030.

The change follows the separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two businesses in March. Under that arrangement, Mace Consult retained the Mace brand, while the contracting arm prepares to operate under its own name.

According to the contractor, Forco was chosen because it is short, impactful and easy to pronounce. Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said the name reflects a commitment to being the UK’s most forward-thinking contractor and its most productive by 2030. He added that the company’s culture, values and people would remain central, and that clients should expect the same teams and the same focus on delivery.

Reynolds also said the business would keep the same approach to creating places and infrastructure that last, despite the change in name and brand.

The contractor linked the new name to that strategy, which sets productivity aims through 2030. The announcement did not provide details on how the goals will be measured or on any changes to project delivery.
