Apollo Tyres Ltd's board has approved unaudited consolidated results for the second quarter and first half of the 2026-27 financial year, reporting double-digit revenue growth alongside a change at the top of its finance function.
For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, revenue from operations rose 17% to Rs 7,968 crores from Rs 6,831 crores in the same period a year earlier. Operating profit for the quarter was Rs 855 crores. Net profit increased 13% to Rs 292 crores from Rs 258 crores, a figure that includes an estimated pre-tax restructuring cost of Rs 26 crores booked as an exceptional item. Revenue growth therefore outpaced net profit growth in the quarter.
Over the six months from April to September, revenue was up 15% at Rs 15,366 crores against Rs 13,392 crores in the prior-year period. Operating profit for the half year came in at Rs 1,723 crores, while net profit reached Rs 641 crores, compared with Rs 271 crores a year earlier. The half-year profit figure also carries the Rs 26 crore pre-tax restructuring charge. The company said its Indian operations carried their strong revenue growth momentum into the second quarter, which it attributed to the effectiveness of its growth initiatives.
Chairman cites rural reach, cricket tie-up and CV launches
Chairman Onkar Kanwar attributed growth across categories in India to sustained rural expansion efforts and the company's strategic association with cricket. He added that new product launches in India's commercial vehicle segment strengthened performance during the past quarter. Kanwar also flagged West Asian geopolitical tensions as a continuing headwind, saying they had resulted in elevated input costs and supply chain disruptions.
Ravi Kumar Shingari named CFO
The board approved the appointment of Ravi Kumar Shingari as chief financial officer with effect from November 4, 2026. Shingari joined Apollo Tyres in 2018 as group head, finance, and has held responsibilities spanning budgeting, accounts and investor relations; more recently he took on additional responsibility for legal. As CFO he will report directly to Neeraj Kanwar, vice chairman and managing director.
Before joining Apollo Tyres, Shingari spent more than 16 years at KPMG, where his last assignment was partner for tax and regulatory services. He is a chartered accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in commerce, B.Com (H), from Shri Ram College of Commerce at Delhi University. The chairman's comments point to India growth drivers running against cost pressure tied to West Asia, leaving input costs and supply continuity as factors to watch.
