Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators designed for remote Canadian work sites. The units are available in 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW capacities and will be available exclusively to Canadian contractors, the company said.
The generators combine Aggreko's current generator technologies with configurations intended to meet Canadian market and regulatory requirements. Aggreko says they are intended to provide reliable, low-emissions power for commercial and industrial applications. All three models are CSA and UN31A compliant, covering electrical and fuel regulations in Canada. The company says the models are designed to meet and exceed local market needs, not merely match minimum requirements.
Large model adds onboard 600V output
The 1200 kW model includes onboard 600V capability, which Aggreko says removes the need for additional step-up transformers. According to the company, direct 600V output can reduce project complexity, improve cost-efficiency and limit potential points of failure. Aggreko is positioning this feature for large industrial loads where 600V is often required.
Paul Nascimento, managing director for Canada at Aggreko, said the Canadian-specific design reflects the importance of the market to the company. He pointed to large petrochemical and mining operations that need power across remote territories, as well as construction and data centre sectors, as sources of demand for engineered energy solutions that are both powerful and precisely configured.
Canopy units and fleet range
The 145 kW and 210 kW models are canopy units that Aggreko describes as readily deployable for immediate energy needs. The 1200 kW unit is aimed at large industrial loads. The new models extend Aggreko's Canadian fleet, which ranges from 25 kW to 1200 kW.
The three generators are aimed at different site requirements. The smaller canopy sets are packaged for rapid deployment, while the 1200 kW set is positioned for heavier industrial demand. Aggreko says the Canadian versions are configured around local requirements and the conditions contractors face on remote work sites. The lineup therefore spans small and large temporary-power duties within the same Canada-specific range.
Aggreko's Canadian service centres and energy experts will work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events to deploy temporary power. The company says all three generators offer fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and controlled noise levels that surpass local requirements.
Aggreko also sees the generators as suited to Canada's expanding data centre industry. As provincial regulators examine limits on the power data centre operators draw from the grid, the company says its Tier 4 Final units can provide off-grid energy to keep facilities operating while limiting disruption to communities.
